About our environment
Bryn Halen Mawr translates literally as “Hill Salt Big ” and means “the big farm at salt hill”.
Most of the land is now farmed by neighbours, but we have seven acres of meadow, fruit trees and bushes, with a pond and wildlife areas through which guests can wander.
We have been accepted onto the Green Dragon Environmental scheme and have been accredited to the Green Dragon Environmental Standard, currently level 2. We are committed to improving the environmental impact of our business and sustainable tourism is one of the scheme’s aims. We aim to make it as convenient as possible for guests to help in this endeavour without compromising comfort; for example, by supplying re-cycling bins and environmentally friendly household products in each property. Copies of our environmental policy are displayed in the properties and can be emailed on request. Please read the guest information book for suggestions on how you can help us meet our environmental aims. Part of the scheme involves a programme of improvements which we are implementing.
